Who is Thaiphoon Jira?

Jira was born in Udon Thani, Thailand, into a family deeply rooted in the restaurant industry. She learned the art of authentic Thai cooking from a young age and later moved to the U.S., where she became a citizen.

Life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with cancer. While she is now cancer-free, the treatments left her permanently disabled and unable to work in the way she once could. Despite these challenges, Jira still wants to share her love for Thai culture, cooking, and natural products. With the support of her family, she has created this business—not just as a way to stay connected to her passion but as a step toward a greater dream: opening an orphanage in Thailand.

Jira currently lives in Scottsdale, AZ, with her husband Doug and their Cocker Spaniel, Pepper. When she has the energy, she enjoys gardening and staying connected with her roots by growing fresh herbs and vegetables—just as she did in Thailand, where her family owns an organic farm.

Even if you don’t have access to an Asian market, we provide ingredient substitutions to make Thai cooking accessible wherever you are.

Our Commitment to Giving Back

At Thaiphoon Jira, we believe in the power of giving back. While we are not currently able to donate, our long-term goal is to help fund an orphanage in Thailand—a dream that has been close to Jira’s heart for many years.

Due to her disability, Jira is not actively able to participate in running the business. Nevertheless, her inspiration continues to guide us, and her passion for Thai culture and natural living remains at the heart of everything we do. Family and friends have come together to carry forward her vision, ensuring that the spirit of Thaiphoon Jira lives on.
